Why Sealcoating?
Over time, heat, cold, water and air attack the binder in asphalt pavements. This causes stress and oxidization which will eventually weaken and destroy the asphalt's flexibility.
Spills of gas and oil soften the binder and speeds up this destruction. As the pavement begins to weaken, the aggregate stone in the blacktop loosens. Water can now penetrate deeper which further accelerates the binder's deterioration. When the aggregate begins to loosen, cracks and potholes soon form as vehicle traffic only exploits the pavement weakness.
In short, major repairs are required or an entirely new driveway is necessary. Driveway Sealcoating will double the life of your driveway as well as beautify the look of your home. It will also provide for easier snow removal and cleaning, while protecting the driveway from salt and other de-icing chemicals.
